I think scout needs to exceed not concede by the time they actually produce something the technology should be much better than current offerings. The problem is VW has its tentacles in Rivian , Porsche , Audi , and now Scout along with their own offerings. So if VW is going to manage their portfolio of vehicles they could designate each one to pursue different markets. IE: Rivian full EV offerings / Scout Erev Offerings / Audi & Porsche luxury and EV offerings higher end / VW lower cost vehicles hybrids / EV / Ice one would think they would not try to compete against themselves so they can designate each brand to a specific market. But that's why we have choices and for 100 bucks we get to make a choice once Scout gets us order sheets

Jamie, I hope you're reading this. I might suggest another poll sent out by e-mail (eg, customers are repreneative and don't have to be regulars on this thread) regarding percentage of people who actually want full EV after learning the full details. I myself changed from the harvester to full EV once I realized it would only have 150 miles of full electric. It was the 500 range that I wanted, not the comfort of gas. After reading about a delay in production for a full EV Scout, I reluctantly made a reservation for the Rivian R-2.

The poll might be written to include a question of what people would choose if technology advances fast enough for 400 miles of range to be an option prior to production. For me, 350 is enough, and I expect 400 is the game-changer point for nearly every one. During my masters degree I studied the psychology of adapting to shifts in transportation.

As it is, I believe the number of people who said they want the harvester is likely poor data. Unless the info I've read that the new CEO of Volkswagen is anti-electric, you really need reliable data on this. (Thus he may be more politically motivated than economically motivated). I hope Scout has enough independence from Volkswagen to make rational decisions about production. High range EV with high touch, high sports capable SUV is a niche in the market that has a void.

People who say you don't need the Harvester do not tow in the rural West. There are plenty of places out here where it is still hard to find a charger. I think it's smart to start with the Harvester which distinguishes itself from the other trucks and SUVs. Who knows if Stellantis will ever put out the RAM EREV or Jeep Wagoneer EREV before Scout?

Seems both could be offered if your building a state of the art facility it should be able to provide both in a timely fashion. But once battery technology explodes erev's will be what Edsel was to the automotive industry short lived in my opinion. After having a plugin hybrid then to full Electric I can see where the future lies and it's not combustion.

Everything changes when it comes to actual order time. Having gone through this with the bronco and others, I will say at least Ford tried to do what they could during covidworld to keep the interest of reservation holders. The powers at be here don't seem to care one bit about the reservation holders.

That's why we always have a plan B it's our money and only we decide who gets it. Will it be Scout , Rivian , GM , Porsche Volvo , polestar there are many options Scout needs us more than we need Scout

It's not "poor data." They aren't basing these numbers on polls. They're basing them on actual pre-order deposits. It's literally the best data you could possibly get at this point.

It's not the best data, look at CyberTruck reservation conversion rates. The Scout depot is very small and refundable, it means nothing. The fact they're pushing BEV back is a big disappointment. Work with a battery supplier and offer a mondo battery option with 500 miles of range, then there's no need for the EREV. Porsche already has access to cells that will charge over 300kW to 60%, I imagine those will be more common by the time the Scouts are ready.

I for one want to change to full EV EREV's are the bag phones of current auto industry it's a bandaid till society adapts to common sense listen how many gas stations were there when ford pumped out model T 's we've come along way from horse and wagon now it's time to move on from our horse and wagons into the world of electric to me I see the upside. Home charging currently cost me 12 bucks to go 280 miles and car and charger know when to charge off hours to save peak usage hours. It can charge your home when a power outage occurs for 3 days I put a portable freezer cooler in rear for trips to Costco and spring training your driving around atop a big battery it's just simply better and the infrastructure to support them is growing even with the road blocks from big oil / Trump .

So if scout wants us to change now they should let us know I was waiting till order time or when they tell me I have to make my decision Erev or ev I thought we had that option till order time. But the other elephant in room is how many leave if dealerships win ???

Great thing about being older is we're not hasty we can wait for what we want it's harder for them to put us under the new car smell

Here's a simple question to Jamie Scott or whoever is monitoring this forum. ( Is Scout Delaying the Full EV version ) And if so what are timelines for people currently holding a reservation ? And what happens to those who currently hold an Erev reservation and want s to switch to EV should they do it now to keep their place in line or will Scout honor their current spot held. What's the consensus on switching from Erev to EV ??

To me it's sad that an innovative company with so much excitement behind it and history is choosing to be one of the crowd instead of the innovator and producing an EV like no other and they know EV's are the future that was Scout's original mission by loosing that original vision we now have harder court litigation due to Erev gas engines which will cause VW dealers to win and a lot of us to exit the brand and the excitement we once shared independent minds building exceptional products in America wow sounds amazing !!

Probably smart, but damn that makes me sad. Not interested in buying a combustion car after owning an EV truck.
You and me alike. Once you use a BEV you see with a little planning you can overcome MOST range anxiety. If you could get the EV portion up to 200 miles and the EREV portion to 300 miles I could be a lot more excited, we will see how everything plays out.

Definitely not buying a truck with a gas or diesel engine. Electric only is the only logical choice. I have solar on my roof and power walls in my garage. No reason to buy a hybrid.
Me too, I agree. Green all the way
