I think scout needs to exceed not concede by the time they actually produce something the technology should be much better than current offerings. The problem is VW has its tentacles in Rivian , Porsche , Audi , and now Scout along with their own offerings. So if VW is going to manage their portfolio of vehicles they could designate each one to pursue different markets. IE: Rivian full EV offerings / Scout Erev Offerings / Audi & Porsche luxury and EV offerings higher end / VW lower cost vehicles hybrids / EV / Ice one would think they would not try to compete against themselves so they can designate each brand to a specific market. But that's why we have choices and for 100 bucks we get to make a choice once Scout gets us order sheets

Jamie, I hope you're reading this. I might suggest another poll sent out by e-mail (eg, customers are repreneative and don't have to be regulars on this thread) regarding percentage of people who actually want full EV after learning the full details. I myself changed from the harvester to full EV once I realized it would only have 150 miles of full electric. It was the 500 range that I wanted, not the comfort of gas. After reading about a delay in production for a full EV Scout, I reluctantly made a reservation for the Rivian R-2.

The poll might be written to include a question of what people would choose if technology advances fast enough for 400 miles of range to be an option prior to production. For me, 350 is enough, and I expect 400 is the game-changer point for nearly every one. During my masters degree I studied the psychology of adapting to shifts in transportation.

As it is, I believe the number of people who said they want the harvester is likely poor data. Unless the info I've read that the new CEO of Volkswagen is anti-electric, you really need reliable data on this. (Thus he may be more politically motivated than economically motivated). I hope Scout has enough independence from Volkswagen to make rational decisions about production. High range EV with high touch, high sports capable SUV is a niche in the market that has a void.

People who say you don't need the Harvester do not tow in the rural West. There are plenty of places out here where it is still hard to find a charger. I think it's smart to start with the Harvester which distinguishes itself from the other trucks and SUVs. Who knows if Stellantis will ever put out the RAM EREV or Jeep Wagoneer EREV before Scout?

Seems both could be offered if your building a state of the art facility it should be able to provide both in a timely fashion. But once battery technology explodes erev's will be what Edsel was to the automotive industry short lived in my opinion. After having a plugin hybrid then to full Electric I can see where the future lies and it's not combustion.
