It's not "poor data." They aren't basing these numbers on polls. They're basing them on actual pre-order deposits. It's literally the best data you could possibly get at this point.
Firstly, the battery is closer to half the size (~150 vs ~350 miles) not 1/4 or 1/5. Second, the erev will have a different chemistry - likely LFP, that is less susceptible to degradation from 100% charge cycles. And finally, the typical use pattern for someone charging at home is to plug in...
We understand what you're getting at but you really are using the word "inefficient" wrong. The lightning is more efficient than an equivalent ICE vehicle, full stop. The cost of electricity is a completely separate issue.
Welp, in this new interview, Chris Benjamin says in no uncertain terms that Scout won't have advanced autonomy.
Relevant comment towards the end at around 1:09:00. Worth watching in full of you have the time.
Unfortunately it appears not to be the case. RJ answers the question directly in this interview from today. The JV does not include Rivian's autonomy stack. However he does say that they'd be interested in licensing it. Still, I'd say it makes it probably more unlikely that something would come...
Yeah, question is does the Rivian/VW joint venture include autonomy tech?
I don't know. I would assume Rivian would want to keep that as a competitive advantage. On the other hand, sharing with VW could reduce costs through volume and provide more training data.
Just FYI, the 2nd and 3rd row seats in the R1S fold completely flat.
LR defender seats in later models fold flat as well because you can remove the lower cushions.
I don't understand this. Are you trying to say that if they start production in January of '28, it will take an entire year before deliveries happen? That's insane. It absolutely does not take a year for that to happen.
I seriously doubt those BFGs are going to be standard. They've already mentioned that there will be both road focused and off-road focused configurations.
I don't think most people have let it sink in that the reveal trucks represent maxed out option configurations.
