I saw the release today. IF there is a “generous” initial lease program might consider getting one to tie me over until the Scout arrives. Recon doesn’t have the same visual impact or target performance as the Scout. Starting price of $60k (2025 dollars) indicates Scout will REALLY have to work hard to deliver the same price in 2027 dollars (still hoping?!).

Up to 250 miles? Keep in mind it will never be more than that and degrades over time so, for me, 300 miles is a minimum and should be more this far into EV development.

Under 250 miles - they can keep it. Not worth the buzz. Of course it might be a bloated pig if they tried to shoehorn more batteries in it.

I’ve always liked Jeeps, had a Comanchee pickup that I loved until it was stolen and totaled…. But just my opinion the Scout looks way cooler…. Did someone mention range? 😜

Jeep starting price is 65K plus 2K destination charge.

But the good news is that you'll be able to buy one coming off lease for 31K.

What a joke. 250mile on a 100kW that starts at $67K. WHAT ARE YOU DOING STELLANTIS! Legacy Auto wonders why THEIR demand for EV is non existent. When they keep coming up with shit. I was generally excited for this vehicle when the first announced it, but now jeez get bent Stellantis.

Right in line with the insane prices of all Jeeps. Sadly, Jeep owners accept and live with the poor build quality, but their customer base will erode if they don’t do something to correct the pricing models.

I would seriously consider it if it were an extended-range EV. There’s a reason the EREV variants of the Scout have so many more reservations than the pure EVs.

Love it! I've actually considered a 2025 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4X4 Laredo (V6 ICE) with Tech Group 1 & Tow Package only, to meet my minimum 5,200lbs. towing needs. You can get $12,000+ discounts on them new, putting that new vehicle at about $30K.

The main thing that stopped me was the inability to flat tow the low end models. You have to upgrade to QuadraTrac 2 for that.

So I did what so many others are doing today, what's coming off the 3 year leases that can do the job? Well the 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4X4 TrailHawks meet the bill. Better features than the new Laredo described above and you can flat tow it too. They are priced about the same with low mileage like new condition and often Certified. Still waffling...

These new high prices and crazy depreciation are a big concern for me.

That's how I bought my '15 GC, can get some great deals on lease returns. You just have to shop around and be patient to find one with a good service history. Mine had 26K and still had the plastic covering in the cargo area.

I want to buy a "newer" one but as you said you cannot get a proper transfer case in all but the highest end models and I don't want 20" wheels and "rubber band" tires on a car I'm going to do some mild off-roading with.
