Rivian wins Scout looses I guess VW figured full EV buyers can go to Rivian's CPO lot all those leased Rivians can be bought for a discount they have a plan
NOT at all conceding pivot to VW dealer distribution. Graz has emerged as a vehicle assembler for multiple manufacturers in Europe. No reason Scout factory floor space and even drive trains can’t be shared (ala Honda Prologue/GM) for a price. What you stated about Audi being added to production line then you concede scout will be through dealership networks of VW dealers ?
I'm in that camp, I reserved a Harvester but now really have no interest in that option but never changed my reservation. We know that when the Scouts were first announced and reservations opened, a vast majority chose the Harvester option because it truly sounded like the best of both worlds.
As more information started to trickle out, I think a lot of reservation holders were more on the fence about deciding between Harvester or full BEV (Me among them). Many even changed their reservation to drop the Harvester option, but I wonder how many did not? I know, I myself did not change my reservation even though I was starting to lean heavily toward full BEV. So, let's say late 2026/early2027, we get more concrete specs and pricing, and Harvester is a much more expensive option than expected, and also reduces performance more than expected. Reservations holders make a mass exodus away from Harvester (or worse, stick with it to get their trucks earlier even though they would prefer to not have the option). Now we are nearer a 50/50 split, or even 60-40 BEV. Will there be another last-minute pivot by VW/Scout or will it be too late?
That's an interesting thought. How many people reserved due to the nostalgia of the Scout brand and how they nailed the look to past Scouts vs. people that reserved due it being an EV and any ole EV will fill the transportation need? That's why we always have a plan B it's our money and only we decide who gets it. Will it be Scout , Rivian , GM , Porsche Volvo , polestar there are many options Scout needs us more than we need Scout
RAM EREV will be releasing their EREV this year 2026.....Who knows if Stellantis will ever put out the RAM EREV or Jeep Wagoneer EREV before Scout?
Both for me.That's an interesting thought. How many people reserved due to the nostalgia of the Scout brand and how they nailed the look to past Scouts vs. people that reserved due it being an EV and any ole EV will fill the transportation need?
Yes, but many people placed their pre-order deposits before fully understanding how the harvester works. (Including myself). Initially it sounded like a slam dunk to get the harvester with 500 miles range vs the full EV with 300 range. Once people understand that the harvester model only gets 150 mile battery range, with 350 from the gas generator, some percentage of people will change their decision. Reading these threads, there is still some confusion. I initially placed my deposit on the harvester for that reason. It's not "poor data." They aren't basing these numbers on polls. They're basing them on actual pre-order deposits. It's literally the best data you could possibly get at this point.
