Yeah my Lightning was advertised as having 300 miles of "estimated" range. And in summer it did. But now it's down to 250 per charge, and when we get to January I bet it's closer to 200. Cold weather and BEVs don't play well together.

So if you take this Jeep Recon, at "up to 250 miles of range" and put it in a January snow storm, you're looking at 175 miles of range per charge if you're lucky.

And that's for $67k START price, with horrendous double whammy resale value because it's a Stellantis product AND it's an EV, and we haven't even started talking trim levels or options. Are they kidding??

On your range figures, I'm EV stupid but is that 100% to 0% charge or 80-20 (which is what I understand to be the "best" charging routine, I could be way off on this though)?

I see these range numbers all the time and am never sure if it's for a 20-80-20 charge routine or are people saying I get X range but are using 100-0 numbers? Or does it just depend on who you're talking to?

I'm talking at 95-100% charge. (Ford intentionally holds back a small part of the actual capacity of the battery so that a 100% charge is not really 100% of the capacity. They do this for the health of the battery.)

Won't surprise me one bit to see Recon owners complaining of 150 miles of range on a full charge in the middle of winter.

Don't worry about this, it's a Stellantis product, they are all garbage now.
