Will the pano roof have a shade inside you can pull to keep from baking in the sun? I live in the deep South where it’s hot 8-9 miles months out of the year.
Fixed glass panoramic roofs don't appeal to me. Heavy/reduce payload and weight is high in the vehicle where you don't want it, expensive and let too much heat in. A lot of people with them get shades and never take the shades off so they are a waste. The sliding glass sunroof in my car is seldom fully open and usually has the sunshade closed. The only use it regularly gets is the setting where the back of the sunroof is raised to let out hot air.Do we know what the other roof options will be? Will there be a full pano roof with a shade?
The cabana top is interesting. It’s one those cool things to have but most people will hardly use it. I feel a pano roof is much more practical and useful.

Many EV vehicles with pano roofs seem to not offer an integrated shade (Tesla, Ford Mach-E, Volvo EX90) and I’m guessing it may be partly due to cost and part to battery usage. Putting on and taking off an external shade is an option but almost pointless as it becomes too burdensome, especially with large roofs. I’m less worried about weight of a glass roof (this truck is already heavy) and really feel a pano roof provides ample light into the cabinet to create a different experience. More so, at least on my Mach-E I’ve never complained it got too hot in the cabin due to the glass roof (it’s factory tinted). But all that depends on what climate you’re in. A partially retracting glass roof with a shade would be ideal for me (my Range Rover has this as does my wife’s XC90), but I highly doubt we will see that in a Scout. Will the pano roof have a shade inside you can pull to keep from baking in the sun? Nice to watch but not for me. I’m concerned about the noise and after owning a tesla with glass roof I’m also concerned about the heat.Good looks at cabana top opening.
Exactly my concern. If the cabin sounds like a Jeep or Bronco, no thank you. Just make it like bmw x5/x7 panoramic glass retractable roof with sound barrier closure.Nice to watch but not for me. My wife's iX has a pano roof with no traditional shade, but it can let in less light at the touch of a button. I think it's electrochromic? Basically you tap a button and it becomes more tinted/frosted. Still not opaque, but it definitely keeps more light out. Many EV vehicles with pano roofs seem to not offer an integrated shade (Tesla, Ford Mach-E, Volvo EX90) and I’m guessing it may be partly due to cost and part to battery usage. Yes Lexus also offers the smart glass electrochroamatic option, as does Polestar, VW (on ID.Buzz and ID.7). Again it’s a cost thing which I’m happy to pay for if offered. However, a simple automatic shade to me is still less costly, less complicated and more effective. My wife's iX has a pano roof with no traditional shade, but it can let in less light at the touch of a button. I don't think it is quite as effective at blocking heat as a true shade, but it's less mechanically complicated.
