Anyone else losing excitement/interest?

I, like you, was in on the Bronco early. That’s why I had my eyes wide open on the Scout. I anticipate dates to be missed, don’t have to have a new vehicle and the deposit isn’t an amount I am concerned about. If you’re expecting everything to move smoothly, are uncomfortable with numerous modifications, need a new vehicle relatively soon or don’t want them holding your money for an extended period, my advice is to move on. It’s not like when they finally are available they won’t still sell you one.

And it's why I have said we really don't want to see the sausage being made. The Bronco MIC top is the perfect example.

I think Scout should throttleback on the pressers and just go about it's business of building the factory and get the product rolling out the door.

I still think the better way to launch a vehicle is to get through to low rate initial production, then launch. Having Leno drive around his airport in a prototype that sounds like an electric toy car with straight-cut gears was amusing and tell tale of how underdeveloped the product really is.

This is my first time visiting here in several months. WIth so much up in the air in terms of the actual production models configuration, pricing and such a long fuse on these vehicles, my interest level is considerably less than when I made my early reservation. I came to Scout after an even longer wait for a Cybertruck. Looking back, not actually buying the Cybertruck was a great decision for a lot of reasons. I'm not even sure about the Scout vehicle I ordered but I assume when and if it comes time to actually place an order, I will have the option to get a Terra or Traveler BEV (leaning Terra).

Although I understand the original logic of offering the Hybrid options, I'm definitely not getting the Harvester. I haven't been to a gas station in years and want to keep it that way. The charging infrastructure is so good here in California and my use case well defined that I will be fine with 300 miles of actual range. I'll check back in a year or so just to see how things are progressing but I'm to old to actively watch the grass grow.

The "Product" is just Production Intent prototype. The fact that they got it to move at all is fine. No one expects the final product to sound anything like that. But lets wait and see how everything else goes.

Was so excited at the beginning. Loved the Traveler and all it offered. Thought the Harvester option was simply awesome.

Then I found out the Harvester took away half of the battery-only range and handicapped towing. So, I cancelled it and kept the BEV version.

Then Trump announced his tariffs and my country (Canada) announced reciprocal tariffs. Then there was a logical discussion that it wouldn't make any sense for Scout to offer sales or service centres in Canada given the new animosity between the two former allies.

And now we know that it's going to cost Scout more to build the vehicle. Especially, if any components are coming from China as Trump just announced 104% tariffs on all Chinese goods and he's said that's only the beginning. The world order is reshaping and it's anyone's guess what this will mean.

Also, my investments are way down and spending up $100K on this SUV is now a no-go. Before you flame me that it's not $100K, remember I'm in Canada and our dollar is very weak.

I used to check this forum a couple of times a day. Now I barely think about it anymore and am on the cusp of getting my $150.00 BEV reservation deposit back.

Is anyone else feeling the same way or am I just a whiny b1tch and most of you will just wish me good riddance?

I was disappointed when I understood the battery range of the harvester ... changed my reservation to Electric only. I'm retired but we still have 2 years (probably 3 ?) to see what the market does and what happens to tariffs and cost of the vehicle (always thought $50K seemed pretty optimistic). For a small deposit I put down I can wait things out.

I never said anything about the preproduction prototype sounding like the final delivered product.

I said issuing a video of the product in its current development state indicates how immature the design is 2-years out from delivery in late 2027. Obviously, the drivetrain in the prototype is not anywhere near production spec and probably just a codged group of parts to just move the mass of metal around (so it doesn't need to be pushed by hand).

while I am not overly worried about the gear sounds of the production intent, I was a bit surprised. I would have thought they were going to use an off the shelf e-axle for it - so that should not have been much of a work in progress (I would have guessed it would have been one of the more worked out parts). Instead, of an off the shelf e-axle, it seemed pretty cobbled together. Now the rest of the car, sure probably a lot of it was 3D printed... Kind of amazing the production intent looks so great.

HAVING been through the Bronco reintroduction experience as an early resevationist, this Scout trip is Deja Vu all over again. My hopes are that no world pandemic will plague us again.

Now that I realize the Harvester is an afterthought, my Spidysense is telling me to cash out. I think the Harvester is easily two years out farther than the BEV version. I think I'm going to let it all play out first.

Been there, waited almost 2 years for my Bronco. I am "happy" with it but I think is time for a change and will happily wait until my Harvester is ready.

Like you this is wearing on me, I need a new vehicle now or later this summer, not "maybe next year." And in these days of price variability, I am ready to pick up a made in USA ICE Subaru and call my EV goals over.

I'm very happy with my Ioniq 5 and will never go back to gas.

Biggest turn off for me was the really “lame” reduced towing capacity of the Harvester. Still hoping for a change towards a more usable range but my initial excitement dropped pretty steeply after that was announced. It’s a very large vehicle with the proposed towing capacity of a 4Runner. Still have my reservation but at this time I am not sure of how I will proceed in 2 years.

I read about how VW may consider using a portion of the Scout facility to produce Q5’s for Audi. If that happens, I wonder what delays it could cause on the Scout side, if any. There’s just so much uncertainty right now which makes me think delays are inevitable in terms of Scouts rolling off the production line.

Yes, but sharing space at the factory with VW will pretty much negate Scout's claim of being an independent brand, and strengthen the Auto dealers claim against Scouts direct to buyer program.
