The low activity of this thread (and many others here) is indicative of an interesting couple of products with really nice looking prototypes and reasonable price targets but SLOW execution. Two years after the well executed into, we are still 2 years out (at best) and an unfinished factory with...
You've stated the best argument for the need of a hybrid truck, towing long distances to remote locations. I believe the actual number of truck owners who tow long distance is a very low percentage of all truck owners. Electric vehicle adoption here in the US faces significant headwinds for many...
Since Chevy lost over $40K on each Volt sold, I wouldn't get to excited about a Harvester deployment of that vehicle tech (I bought 3 of them for my wife and she loved the cars (our daughter still drives the 2018).
I understand chasing range but Lucid has demonstrated you can get 4-5 hundred...
Although battery technology is somewhat volatile, longevity problems aren't a thing. The Carbon Energy sector spews out nonsense about BEV's and their batteries all the time. Truth is, even the earliest Tesla's like the 2012 Model S's with comparatively primitive battery technology and hundreds...
This is my first time visiting here in several months. WIth so much up in the air in terms of the actual production models configuration, pricing and such a long fuse on these vehicles, my interest level is considerably less than when I made my early reservation. I came to Scout after an even...
I said "Up to an Hour" but ... I live near Sacramento and have two Tesla Service Centers within 30 minutes of my home. Since we have 3 Tesla's in the family, having two SC's that close is great. One of them is a 10 minute drive.
That said, we have had very few opportunities to use the SC's as...
Absolutely, I'd happily trade off maximum range for faster charging speed. That said, I'm not towing and here in California the Superchargers are plentiful. Tesla's software nav/routing is so good we have far less range anxiety. No other BEV manufacturer is even close. I hope Scout can properly...
It is all to familiar for Internet forums to have pointed discourse based purely upon supposition. The Harvester versions will provide Scout with a key differentiator from the current available models. For me, I want nothing to do with an ICE propulsion system as I will not be towing and a NACS...
My request is that Scout Team learn from Rivian's (and others ) mistakes which are:
1. Poor positioning of the charge port for the must have Tesla Supercharging support (make all models native NACS)
2. Poor charge curve leading to much longer charge times.
3. Poorly designed and implemented...
The dealers can stamp their little feet and hold their breath but that won't change the inevitability of Manufacturer Direct Sales. That sales model is the only way to achieve clean technology vehicles at scale and with affordable prices.
The reasons I hate the Cybertruck and refused delivery are:
1. The stupid 100% price increase (FS)
and
2. The design changes they made to make it "fit in a standard garage" by chopping off the front end making it look even more ridiculous.
The Cybertruck would have been fine with a Rivian...
This is a steep hill for Scout to climb and I'm full of hopium ... It's a great concept vehicle and if they can execute the plan on time and on budget I believe it will be a winner.
The BEV SUV and pickup truck markets are getting more competitive. For me it will be a bang for buck decision but I will only consider a domestically built vehicle. That's my redline ...
