Am I the only one who thinks that hemp wood is ugly? I think it totally pulls away from the design theme they were going for.
I think it's fine but I would stain it a little darker. I also bet this is a high spec package or option. I bet base and mid have something more like padded vinyl or faux carbon fiber.Am I the only one who thinks that hemp wood is ugly? Unless it some insane premium. I will be getting this option.
Initially I am not a fan. those bucket seats in the diagrams look awfully comfortable.
Alot of F150 work trucks have the bench seat with the flip down center console. It's a place for the right arm, and cup holders.Curious how many members here plan to order front bench seating? I'm considering it myself though losing center console does lose some utility.
Lots of people have been asking for it for years on trucks but no manufacturer seems to want to offer it until now. Now that we have the option, I wonder what the take rate on it will be...
If you plan to get the front bench seat will it mostly be used to carry a passenger, dog or both?
Here's some good looks and description of the front bench seat - by TheDrive and TFLThere looks to be a lot of legroom up there for all three passengers. It helps that there’s no transmission tunnel running down the middle. Also, since it’s an EV, nobody has to worry about the awkward reach when it’s time to shift into second gear. It’s hard to know since these are still concepts with production not starting until 2027, but I believe I spy a full split between each chair. They could be independently adjustable and on the show model that’s displayed above, there are power controls on the side of the seats.Scout didn’t say but judging by the in-person photos, that middle chair folds down. If that’s the case, then it’ll surely pull double-duty as a cupholder when no one’s sitting there. You can have your sweetheart sitting right beside you or a Big Gulp. It’s a win-win either way.
Looks like there's a storage drawer / tray with a handle underneath the middle bench seat also.

I plan to get the bench seat for my dog. He's a 75 pound golden retriever lap dog, and whines the whole time he's in the back seat not next to me!Curious how many members here plan to order front bench seating? I'm considering it myself though losing center console does lose some utility.

Ya know, I have to change my mind. I hadn't seen a bench seat offered on a new vehicle since like the late 90's, so I figured it just wasn't possible with newer safety regs, but the '25 Chevy Tahoe has an optional bench seat on the base trim, so it looks like I was wrong and it is entirely possible! The fact they just showed another prototype in Germany 2 days ago with a bench seat is a really good sign the bench seat is making it to production.
It's the same Terra Scout showed before that's been repainted and tweaked. Scout continues to say both models will offer both seating options. Hopefully, there won't be any airbag issues with the center seat. We still haven't seen what changes to the dash will occur and what the center seat console will be like when folded down. The fact they just showed another prototype in Germany 2 days ago with a bench seat is a really good sign the bench seat is making it to production.
Ford offers F150 and F250 bench seats with fold down backrest consoles for at least the past 14 years. My FIL has one and I love it. I doubt they will have any trouble meeting safety requirements unless there is something new coming in regulations.Ya know, I have to change my mind. I was probably gonna get a Rivian R2, but the bench seat is the actual game changer for me.
