Curious if the Scout team is exploring the revolutionary new battery technology from Donut. If the claimed solid-state battery innovation is real, how long before we can experience the benefits in passenger vehicles?

Holy smokes! Very cool.
Adding: I hope Scout is paying attention and checks into this ASAP.

It sure looks promising. Seriously considering purchasing a Verge motorcycle to get the battery AND the performance. There is a lot of Pooh pooing going on right now about the Donut Labs battery. I guess we will all have more info soon!!

While I am curious what will ultimately come out of this (and have wasted way too many hours trying to find more information) - I am a bit more than highly skeptical. It is easy to be skeptical about a tiny company making a battery that is better than everything else within virtually every category. I become more skeptical when I saw they were cold calling investors - using pressure techniques to get more funding.

The kind of the nail that made me a nearly complete skeptic. PWC refused to render an audit opinion on an engagement with Verge (I am a retired CPA). Now I can not find much on that, so can only assume the engagement was a financial statement audit - but refusing to render an opinion is not a common audit outcome.

I could also see a big tech rival company buying them out so they have the rights, then burying the tech. But I'm going to try to stay optimistic that it's the real deal and potentially revolutionize how we think of renewable energy. I did find this interesting video on the subject:

VERY interesting. It seems a few smart people working together can (theoretically) out innovate multiple corporate teams rehashing old ideas. I think there is more $$ to be made with licensing and production (AND already deep pockets on board) so selling tech seems unlikely.

I guess RUSSIA could just reach over the border (sound familiar) and take the technology but now there is the little problem of Finland recently joining NATO.

Once the new generation Verge motorcycles hit the streets details will emerge (guess I should have placed the order sooner). MAYBE my dream of a next gen Scout with a next gen battery is not too much to ask for?!
