*nm, I confused pure electric range vs Harvester range 😅. I cant delete this, so please ignore.

There are those of us worried about the Harvester towing capacity sitting at 5k vs the 10k EV number. I keep seeing people here saying: I dont care about towing, get the Dodge if you do. I think that's a dumb response considering its a truck thats supposed to do truck things, but I had resigned myself to probably getting a Dodge around '27 or '28. However, after watching some videos about the 1500 REV, all but around 550 miles of that range is off the gas powered generator on a 27g tank of gas. Scout blows Ram out of the water on that with their projected 350 mile range off batteries, and another 150 from the 15g tank. Im back to crossing my fingers HARD that Scout is able to get the tow capacity up to around 8k, because that would make it a no brainer for me, even with losing 6k towing capacity in comparison.

You have it backwards, Scout Harvester will be 150 miles off battery with another 350 off of generator

I do agree that a truck must do truck things. That's why I changed my reservation from the harvester to the EV. About RAM, I don't think we are going to see anything coming from them anytime soon, they have put a hold on their EV program, and that's why I canceled that order and made the reservation with Scout.

I think buy the time we all have to choose between Erev or full EV more will be switching to EV with the advances in battery technology where is battery technology going to be in 2 yrs I think buy the time Scott Keogh sends us order sheets solid state batteries, LFP , will be headed to mass production and hopefully with Scouts Relationship with VW and VW's relationship with Rivian Scout is at the forefront of battery technology and we're watching commercials Range is where the Scout performs on the range and with no range anxiety

Was that before they abandoned pure electric? They've got a pentastar electric generator driving the thing now. About 20 mpg combined is what I saw last night. The Harvester gets 23 mpg.

With that same logic, the Harvester's battery should also improve then. City driving or road trips in ev friendly areas the EV makes more sense. My town has 3 charging terminals with "medium" charging speed. A town i visit is 304 miles round trip, with literally one charging station on the way that has one fast charger. Im not chancing that always windy drive with running out of battery and I sure as heck dont want to wait around for 20 min or more for a fast charger, and another amount of time to charge my own vehicle. Its already a 3.5 hour drive that sucks and I dont want to add another possible hour to that trip.

Dont get me wrong, im ready to make concessions for the Scout because I want to see them continue with the brand. Also, Im really not a fan of Dodge 🙃. I stand by my statement of increasing payload. Bringing it up closer to half ton payload (Chevy's 2.7L gets 9500 towing, but im not even asking for that) will capture a larger portion of the rural half ton and maybe even the midsize market that needs the range and hauls toys.

I'm thinking if scout can come to market with a 500 mile range EV that's a game changer and it's possible in 2 yrs I often wondered why a sub battery/ power wall type could not be added for longer distances no different then the added gas cans on the back ( Scout Pack ) option especially on pickup versions Erev but a rechargeable battery and it's removable when not needed

I saw previously the packs weigh 1600+lb? I can only imagine the looks from our neighbors while we use our deisel chugging skidsteer to drop a battery in the truck hahaha.

No they are not you could have this in your garage being used as a backup power source when not needed and designed to fit within Terra also a great camping option. Weighs about 200lbs

Keep in mind scout would design this to integrate into its line up. They like GM would offer a home charger with bidirectional charging along with the Scout Pack which could be integrated within vehicle and solar home systems or stand alone battery home back up but on long trips pop it off the wall track and snap it in the vehicle and off you go

This is what I want to see from Scott Keogh innovation that makes sense and different from the mainstream
