Thanks for sharing. Dang this looks cool, even though it would make zero sense to get it in our MN climate...

I had a drop top sports car once, only time I could have the top down was spring and fall unless I drove around at night. A 105º > 115º mid-day summer temperature would fry your brains.

I'd wager the production version will have German blood in the design and won't have the starved cow look, and inside the vehicle you can't tell it's there.

It's also a tough choice as I also like sunroofs/panoramic roofs in SUVs. This could make the car really dark.

Cabana top is a requirement for me. In Florida, it’s perfect! I haven’t considered any other top option.

The only thing I care about is, will it be quiet when I’m driving down the highway.
Its definitely going to be louder than glass or other metallic material. I think Scout mentioned that during the reveal or in on of the interviews.

Had this sort of aftermarket sunroof on an Alfa Romeo sedan years ago. Worked fine and was at least as good at keeping heat out/in as the original steel roof.

This would be a fun option if you don't expect to keep your truck very long. With all the issues with leaking, and sunroof drains getting clogged, this will be a nightmare once it's aged a couple years. My old Audi Q7 pano sunroof, and old Mercedes Skyview roof were fun when new, and a disaster after a few years. Cabana top definitely won't be on my options list.

Actually, I think the Cabana top is less likely to leak since the material extends beyond the opening, so water is shed away from the roof. Mine never did but the glass opening sunroof on my BMW did when the drain lines plugged up.

Do we know what the other roof options will be? Will there be a full pano roof with a shade?

The cabana top is interesting. It’s one those cool things to have but most people will hardly use it. I feel a pano roof is much more practical and useful.

So far we know the top options will be: steel metal roof, panoramic glass roof or the cabana roof.
