The model X has the driver door close when you push the brake pedal, make it optional or standard. When you get older that reach to close the door is cumbersome. Watch an older person get in a vehicle and you’ll see what I mean. I’m not even old and I love the feature.

Brake To Close doors requires a lot of sensors by the drivers door. Scout doesn’t seem interested in doing something like that because it would drive up the cost of the models even if it were an option. Time and development spent on it would also drive up the cost. I don’t foresee them doing it.

As long as it's only optional and not built into every vehicle. It would be great to not have yet another $80K EV suv/truck.

Keep exercising. Besides when we get that old we won't be overlanding or offroading.

Hey! watch that!!, I am 76, in great shape and have no trouble climbing up into my lifted truck, or closing doors :). And I still overland and do the Rubicon once a year.

I hope not. More stuff to break.

I’d love to see a luxury trim (a la Tahoe Premier, if that’s what they still call it) release later with this kind of stuff. But I hope the entry trims and the early production leaves off most of the fancy gizmos.

I'm not thinking this is a needed option - I'd lean more towards removable doors versus adding stuff to the door...
