It's funny people with no engineering background on batteries are waiting for the next battery tech before buying. It's like when we were owning an 8086 and waiting for the next big deal, a 80286 but lotus 1-2-3 worked the same regardless.

EV is no different then ICE, buy now, enjoy it, sell it, buy something else, enjoy ........

I don’t believe we’re chasing technology and hoping for the next best battery, etc. It’s the dilemma of announcing and offering reservations for a model that is still 3 years from production. During that time there will be better technology. In fact there’s better now than when Scout was announced. The goal is not to buy something already outdated.

Waiting for the newer battery tech - you may be waiting for a long time.

Have you seen Tesla over the past 16 years making their EVs with NMC lithium batteries forever even till now ?

LFP batteries have just started becoming mainstream now but there are limitations on that chemistry.

My 2023 EV was hoping for LFP as I regularly charge to 100%. But no dice - it came with NMC and I still charge to 100%.

Solid state, sulfur lithium, sodium and other battery tech will take at least 5-10 years before it becomes available for EVs.
