The reality is that the most fierce foreign competitors are still going to be tariffed to the hilt, so US producers like Scout know that they will be protected and have some breathing room to grow. Of course protected industries often succumb to a protectionist mindset and end up not being able to compete on the international stage, so it’s not going to help Scout expand outside the US. Maybe that doesn’t matter. If Chinese EV’s were sold here today without any duties, we’d all be driving them soon and spending a fraction of what we’re going to have to spend to drive American. That’s the choice we’re making as a country, or at least those running the country, and Scout is going to benefit in the short term even without the tax credit.

Im fine with it as long as I am not paying more than the $88k TRD Pro Sequoia I was initially shopping for before I learned about the Scout Traveler.

Good luck with that. The one thing you can count on with tariffs is that all prices, even for domestics, will be higher than without the tariffs. This has been proven out with every tariff over time. We will all pay more for all cars when everything kicks in and the Scout will only cost in the 60’s if you get the pedal powered model. Between inflation and tariff market pricing, easy mid $70’s to $80’s by the time these things come out.

Nothing you said is wrong. Can’t wait for the shocked faces in a few months.
But I’m still hopeful. I can swing six figures by the time they release, but I would prefer not to. It’s going to suck for folks that can’t though.

Well one day scout will give us an idea when we can get to turn reservations into orders most likely because they cannot get stable suppliers numbers and deliveries. Buy 2028 a lot can happen but scout isn't revealing numbers or timeframe

Unfortunately I will be one who can't afford 6 figures... I think 75K out the door will be my max, hopefully there will be some offering in my price range...

They share construction updates each month and have said they are still on track with their timeline.

They announced they will be using AAM for their motors/axles recently.

Weird comment.

So what's your thoughts on A) time of delivery from actual order date. B) when do you think you'll see order sheets ??

At this point I'm hoping to order in 2027...

Probably deliver a year later...
This is what Jamie@Scout Motors posted last month on the official Scout Forum: "options and trim packages won’t be announced till roughly late 2026. And as technology evolves we will adjust."

How does one get hooked up on the ‘Official Scout Forum?’
