Hey all just saw the Scout Traveler in NYC.

Met their team, they are great, knowledgeable and attentive.

Here’s my take:

Exterior: It’s gorgeous in person! The Pacific Mist color is stunning but does not look the same on pics and video. It’s more silver in person with light hints of blue depending on lighting but looks more baby blue in pics. I personally love the color very sleek with the gloss black top and gloss black accents however I look forward to seeing more colors before choosing.

Size: I owned a Bronco Wildtrak and this is bigger. More space in trunk, second row and wider. My opinion, I would say it’s a little smaller than a Tahoe but bigger than an explorer if that helps. I like the size as my Bronco felt small inside especially for my kids in second row.

Interior: a complete home run, it’s beautiful lots of Easter eggs, classy, functional and nice use of the terracotta and dark blue denim. Black cabana looked sharp and extends past the second row so everyone gets the open air feel.

Trunk: nice size I would say the same as our Lincoln Aviator but more room up high.

Production: they are sticking with late 2027 with most deliveries in 2028 and beyond. Should start seeing production ready vehicles or at least details on ordering/pricing etc in about a year from now. They are going to plan more events around that time too - we spoke about having an event at my distillery in the Hudson Valley NY which could be fun and we already do for Ford Bronco (4th year) so stayed on that.

Enjoy the pics and video I sure did! Can’t wait to get more concrete info but very impressive so far.

Charles

Can you close the upper portion of the hatch while the tailgate portion is down? This may be useful with hauling longer items if possible. (Obviously without the tire carrier).

I wonder how easy it is to remove the tire carrier...for that infrequent trip to the lumber yard to grab some 2x4s.

Hmm I don’t know. I took a video of the tailgate going down but missed the beginning part. I will post. I think u can keep the upper portion open but the bottom looks to be connected to the tire holder unless that will be removable but good question

Now that I look at it more, it does look like the tailgate is designed with this in mind. If you look at the tie-down rails on the floor, they continue onto that flap that covers the gap when the tailgate is open. (I'm assuming those are tie-down rails)

Ok, this is confusing and we need updates from Scout. The dimensions listed on the website show the Traveler being 2 inches shorter, bumper to bumper, and 3 inches narrower than a Bronco.

My opinion there is no way this is smaller than a bronco. I had a discussion with one of the Scout reps about this and he said it’s a class size above both bronco and wrangler. Back seat has more room from what I saw and looked wider. Bronco was deceiving to me looked big but was actually small inside especially the back seat and trunk area. I had a wildtrak

My wife has a 4 door OBX. I measured 192" from bumper to bumper.

The width of the bronco includes the fender flares which is at least 3-4 inches on either side for wildtrak. The scout does not have them so the width of the vehicle would be wider and give more width inside. Now the length seems off for me bc the scout looked longer unless the front hood is shorter and the body is longer hmmm.

The Bronco measurement is just to the end of the wing mirrors, same as the Traveler. The measurements should be pretty equal all things considered.

This is taken from another post on these forums from back in November. I'm not sure how accurate they are.
Looks like the Traveler is longer by about the size of the spare tire carrier on the Bronco.

Scout Traveler SUV
- 207.9 inch length (with rear mounted spare tire / carrier)
- 190.9 inch length (without spare tire / carrier)
- 91.6 inch width (with mirrors)
- 79.9 inch width (without mirrors)
- 120.4 inch wheelbase
- 76.3 inch height
- 12+ inch max ground clearance

Bronco 4-Door
- 189.4 inch length (with rear mounted spare tire / carrier)
- 86.2 inch width (with mirrors)
- 75.9 inch width (without mirrors
- 116.1 inch wheelbase

Now these dimensions would make sense to me from what I saw in nyc compared to Bronco! Thank you for posting. Fingers crossed they can execute in a few years but they are coming into a very different market and wish they had an engine option without batteries which would truly future proof the company but let’s see
