I thought 350 EV and 150 range extender. I'm picturing an inverted engine with a 12 gallon gasoline tank. With a 110 plug at extender engine to allow to power as well as slow charger batteries when not in use. I have faith in Scout Dreamer's / Engineering

Well it won't be a 110v plug, that would be abysmally too slow to be of any good. It will need to charge at a higher voltage/amperage to be able to serve the purpose of extending the range.

It's very possible the size of the battery will be smaller on the Harvester versus the full EV model. It will need to be able to drive a greater distance on battery alone than combined to qualify for incentives as an EREV. What exactly that means for battery size... Scout may not even know just yet.

You're missing the point I meant a 110 outlet to power campsite or home outage. In lein of level 2 charger if your visiting friends a 100 foot cord plugged into a 110 receptacle could reverse slow charge batteries so if your visiting were visiting a campsite with power outlets or your daughters for the weekend this could work In lein of preferred level 2 charging

Fair enough if I misunderstood. Typically EVs come with a portable "charger" that can usually plug into a NEMA 14-50 outlet or a standard 110v outlet.

Understand that when I plug in my Rivian via 110v outlet it charges at 1-3 miles per hour. It sucks.... What I would do is buy a dryer outlet to NEMA 14-50 adapter and then manually lower the charging rate if I were visiting a friend and needed to charge.

If there is no dryer outlet available this would be better than nothing just another way to get amps back

Tell me where I can't park my car and leave it running? It might be stupid, but I can do it.
There are some cities that have enacted 'no-idleing' laws. Don't remember where, they are places I don't go.

man I am confused,,,if you are running out of battery power when driving can you just flick a switch and go over to the harvester for another 150 miles or so of driving??? TIA
The gas engine has no mechanical linkage to the wheels, meaning it cannot propel the vehicle. The drive train is fully electric at all times. The gas engine acts only as a generator to charge the battery.

Right. A city near me has those laws but they're really hard to enforce. I see people sitting in Dodge RAMs especially, just idling in the WalMart parking lot. Sometimes, they aren't even occupied.

yes understood, but do you have to pull over and charge the battery or just flick and switch,or does the computer flick a switch and your good to go with the harvester as you are driving??

I would imagine that it operates somewhat like a traditional hybrid, and whenever the battery level gets to a certain percentage, the gas motor kicks in and just starts charging the battery and the vehicle continues to operate as normal.

In the OutOfSpec video, if memory serves me correctly, you have three options - "Auto", "EV", and a third option I don't remember the name of.

in Auto mode the generator will fire up at a certain State Of Charge (SOC). EV mode will run off of batteries only.

You can also manually fire up the generator from the menu as well. Keep in mind this is still early in development and things are likely to change.

The Harvester will not directly power the vehicle (movement) but is strictly there to top off the battery level. If the battery is depleted the Harvester will not be able to be used to drive the vehicle and from what I have read would not provide enough juice to the battery to simultaneously drive the truck from a depleted state. Essentially you would have to be parked with the Harvester running for a period of time to provide enough of a charge to the battery to then continue on your trip.

This is my understanding. Someone who knows more than me should chime in.
