For the experts out there. When can we expect real world data coming from testing the Scout mules?

The shear lack of information is frustrating. There's no configurator, no specs, nothing new. Scout keeps pushing the influencer social media marketing campaign with the same old stale images. Yes, the vehicles looks great, but we really need details if they expect people to keep waiting another 2 years.

I wouldn't expect them any time soon. Look at R2 as an example. They're supposed to be starting production in this half of the new year and they still don't have a configurator or final production stats for them.

Don't hold your breath. Scout is probably still figuring out the engineering, design and features as well as all the trade-offs they are going to need to make to hit, or be close to, their original price point. And lets be honest, from what we've heard, they pivoted at the last minute to add the EREV versions of the vehicles at the reveal. Sure, its nice for consumers to know sooner but it doesn't really do them any favors to reveal it too soon.

Using Jaguar as an example, the F-Pace took 3.5 years to go from an idea to a reality. The configurator for that car came online about 10 months before the first deliveries. I stumbled upon it when researching sporty SUVs for the wife when it first came online. And it wasn’t all there yet as far as working perfect.

I’d imagine that there’s no real reason to get a configurator online until you know exactly what is actually going to be offered and that’s probably changing on a daily basis. Lots of decisions to be made and fighting within the bean-counters to see if offerings are even worth doing. And especially with battery tech changing, that’s going to be a big one as far going out on a limb and saying we’re going to get this or that.

Configurators are for hype as much as anything. I’m sure we’ll see one as soon as they can get one up.

Yeah... When I asked about the Harvester spec/location at the LA Auto Show trying to determine if it was going to be an overcommit by Scout, I was just told "They're still working on it..."

Conceptually the EREV sounds awesome. Execution is going to be a struggle.
