Personally, I’m in no matter what (If the reports are in that it’s everything it’s supposed to be). I’ve done the dealership things dozens of times and also the direct to customer deal with buying my Fisker. So I’ve seen both sides of the coin.

With the Fisker it was pretty cool having techs come right to my house. Here locally (Portland - Seattle) it eventually became a good community of Fisker owners who have all networked together and arranged service sites and capable garages for rent with car lift.

But with the Scout, if they win the battle of direct sales not sure what the protocol will be. With Fisker, they did everything the stupidest most expensive way they could do anything. Some real bozo decisions. They even screwed up the deliveries by taking the most expensive route they could. All they had to do was just semi the vehicle to the nearest interstate and the buyer picks it up there. Instead they had to find someone to take it to your doorstep which added a lot of cost and hassle

I reserved an all electric truck but now that probably won't happen. No, I will cancel my reservation and buy a Rivian, a Slate, or a Tesla (god forbid) or anything else before I buy a gas powered "electric" vehicle.

I have no plans to buy from a car dealer again. They are 99% scumbags. It's one of the main things I like about our Tesla Model X Plaid. The car is great, but the overall experience with buying and servicing blows away the old "squeeze every penny out of you no matter how immoral and deceitful the method" car dealers.

So no, I will not be buying a Scout if it is sold through VW dealers.

I am waiting till order time to see what real options are but I am definitely going full EV hopefully range has increased from current 350 mile prediction and I can wait warranty runs out in 2030 on caddy hopefully battery tech has advanced

Done with dealers. Last EV we bought was through a wholesaler (that becomes your buying agent) – best experience I’ve had. And I look forward to direct. The dealer model has run its course.
