My question to the CEO was not answered:
Slate and Tesla agreement for either plug & charge w/ driver discount going to be available ?

Currently my BEV requires me to open the Tesla app, select the charge location, then choose the charge tower number in order to get the discounted rate.

Would be nice to just pull up and plug & charge....

They lost me at "two wheel drive". A two wheel drive truck is as useless as tits on a bullfrog. I wouldn't even try to launch a small boat with a two wheel drive truck.

2WD preferably RWD is what I prefer.

Why waste power on an additional axle ?

I never use AWD/4WD in urban Los Angeles....

It’s niche at best. Every example they show has a wrap, added interior features like power windows, locks, seats etc making it much closer to other pickups with more range.

when you add in the SUV features pricing is worse.
Most will want standard features like power windows. locks, radio etc.

Yeah no radio, no power windows, nothing. They thought about not even putting A/C in it. Does it have power steering? It does at least have disc brakes. 1,000 lbs. of towing means you can't even pull a 5x8 utility trailer with a lawn mower on it. When Jay Leno got in and closed the driver's door you could see that it was misaligned and the doors also sound terrible when they close; like a 1983 Chevy truck.

There's an old saying that "you get what you pay for" and this Slate truck is the perfect example. I appreciate that they're trying to build a sub-$30k vehicle but if I was buying something in this price range for my teenager I'd rather buy a used Ford/GM/Chrysler vehicle that's more substantial, safer, and has some features. I would not put them into this Slate cracker box on wheels.
