I recall hearing that vehicles were being delivered by a manufacturer on tribal land since tribal government is not subject to state laws. Scout could set up a delivery center at a nice hotel on tribal land, put together package prices to stay over if you want to make a mini vacation of the delivery. Some nice roads around many of our tribal lands in WI. Could get familiar with your vehicle and have help near by on first day to work out any new vehicle issues.

This would be an excellent idea. I live in Arizona, and next to one of the Phoenix area Tribal land sites is a great casino, hotel, and series of restaurants -- all within 10 minutes of a popular desert off roading area!

Theoretically a Tribe could enter into a business relationship with SM. They'd still be able to charge their own tax/fee for the transaction on the reservation. Many Tribes have gas stations...would love to see EV charging incorporated!

We have 3 Tribal Casino/Resorts around me, one being close to some great off road areas including the Rubicon and an off road park.

I think you need to realize that consumers want to A) order online and have delivered to their home or office. B) go to area dealer and trade and buy. C) very few want to spend a weekend flying and buying. Scout needs to have this worked out to be successful but your boy Elon would have been smoking peace pipe long time ago

YES to getting this sorted out.

RE tribal land, anywhere there is a tribal casino there is legal precedent for tribal exemption from state laws (including remote delivery from a tribal based dealer center?) Tribes also have an established cash flow to state government from gaming compacts to lubricate the negotiations).

ALSO VW dealers are not widely distributed across the US so dealer based service will not hugely benefit many of us (adding International truck dealers would help access some additional areas?!).

There may be a silent parter in this legal process. I am aware that at least 1 of the big 3 American auto manufacturers looked at selling vehicles outside of the dealer system in the early 2000’s.

Now with mega dealer chains, unrelenting sales pitches for magic sprays at deal closing , pushing unrequested service when trying to to get basic maintenance done and the“market adjustment” vehicle pricing during the pandemic dealers may find that they do not have the voter support that they once enjoyed.

Time will tell.

They don't need voter support if that was case we still have EV and solar credits. The tariffs are on all materials important to EV's and clean energy. What the current administration is doing is completing their promise to fossil fuel industry that contributed to their campaigns. The agenda is pre written and you're a passenger. And why aren't their Tesla dealers on tribal land why because the tribe owns 30 VW dealerships

I don’t see this a feasible solution. They would have to negotiate with a multitude of trips across the country to make something like this happen.

Not a likely situation.
