I have a 60 amp breaker and an Emporia level 2 charger will fully charge my vistiq in 4-1/2 hrs 48Amps with 500 mile range your hardly ever public charging only on long road trips I just think that should be the bar set. And with solid state technology it's lightweight and cheaper to manufacture so it allows the price points manufacturers need to hit and be profitable.

Yes but it rides like a Cadillac and scouts don't exist they have two years before we see deliveries so it's a nice filler and it's not a Tesla so a lot of positives Happy Holidays !!!

oh dang, greencars.com, must be legit. Is it more legit than the China links to solid state batteries that will never exist?

I wish Scout would just to a hybrid ICE Engine and drop the EV all together or at the very least give us the option for one …the EREV is the single and only reason I placed an order for the Terra…hopefully have two to three years before we see the reality of range , function etc

Here's a question for the upcoming year. Where do you think the automotive industry is headed in next 5 to 8 yrs EV adoption and advanced battery technology. Or hybrids , EREV's, and Ice offerings. I think within the next 5 yrs the automotive industry will be offering more EV options than ICE due to battery advances. But would love to hear others opinions.

It's going to be a long time before consumers see all the recent advances in battery technology make it into a vehicle they can purchase. ICE vehicles will remain a constant during our lifetime. The electrical infrastructure needs a great deal of improvement before EV'S can become an option for the masses.

I thought that way too until I started driving an EV drove 1000 miles from NJ to Florida used all Tesla super chargers and stayed at a Marriot with complimentary EV charging woke up and went 20 / 25 minutes at charging car automatically charts your destination adding in charging stops automatically pre conditions battery 15 miles before next charging station. To me it's the future and 90 % of time you charge at home cost me 28 bucks for month of December for electric at home

Everything is good, if you can afford a Tesla and live in a populated region. I've been driving an EV for ten years. I still need an ICE vehicle for long distance travel in this part of the country.

The electrical infrastructure cannot currently support everyone charging from home. There is also a large segment of the population that live in condos and apartments and cannot charge from home.

I think most people that wanted EV's have them by now and there will be replacements of those vehicles as people do seem to like them, but I don't think that market will explode in popularity in 5 years.

The other area will be people who buy hybrids as the manufacturers are building them and there are no alternatives. If you want an upper end CRV or Civic it has to be a hybrid as that's the only way Honda makes them. Those people aren't enthusiasts, they want a CRV and couldn't care less what power train is in it.

I also think in 10 years we will look back and say what the heck were they thinking? They took all the complexity of a gasoline engine and all the complexity of a battery vehicle and put them together in one package and thought it was a good idea? If you think cars are basically just throw aways now, wait till all these hybrids get 10-15 years on them in northern winters.

Agree!

We have made the transition from ICE to BEV luckily thru my wife's PHEV.

Replacement for the PHEV will be an EREV because the wife will not rely on BEV tech...

Replacement for my BEV will be BEV.
