Even more concerning that they are already resorting to ads considering the number of Rivian R1s sold to date plus 100k+ R2 preorders and Rivian has run ZERO ads after 2+ years of production.
Uhhh.. am I the only one that's a bit underwhelmed by 50k reservations?
FWIW, Rivian had over 100k reservations for R1 models before they started production and that was a $1k deposit and that wasn't even counting the Amazon 100k initial order for their EDVs.
And I thought I read where Rivian...
It's not fluff but fact that there are MANY factors that affect max range. Choose 20" wheels with All Terrain tires for your quad motor Rivian R1 and you reduce your max range by 40 miles; choose the 22" wheels with all season tires and you reduce your max range by 20 miles. Choose Sport mode...
I'm confused. Why would an BEV with a 350 mile range be a problem for a 180 mile daily
EV max range depends on MANY factors (e. g. wheel size, tire tread, drive mode, ride height, temperature, driver, etc.) not relevant to other devices that use lithium batteries which is an apples to donuts...
Currently own a 2023 Rivian R1S quad-motor Gen 1 with max range ~308 miles and my daily commute is 100+, so Scout EV 350 max range is plenty.
I have no desire of going back to a gas station and all the required ICE maintenance and fluids/filters changes.
It's more than a rumor; it's a *publicly declared* promise by an administration that is now aligned w/ the Senate and House to deliver on all declared promises, since MANY of them were in fact voted into their positions this election to undo the current administrations policies by a clear voter...
If by *equality* you mean equal playing field for all competitors in a free market then, yes please!
Again, when the *original true EV start up*--Tesla started, there were ZERO EV and/or charger network subsidies competing against oil & gas subsidies and Tesla built the EV market from ground up...
Credit vs deduction is just semantics. Yes, it's a *credit* but I took issue w/ labeling it a *subsidy*.
Regardless, you point out the REAL problem is that the govt does NOT reduce spending and spends more than it takes in REGARDLESS of who pays what.
$36T+ national debt
$1.8T+ 2024 budget...
As always, less == more when it comes to govt involvement in the free market.
Charging network profitability is not a problem for Tesla who has led THE WORLD in EV and charging network adoption ...
"Render unto Caesar what is Caesar's""...but not a penny more of MY HARD-EARNED $$$. ;-)
AFAIC, We don't NEED any income tax liability. Let's not forget that mostly tariffs paid for our Federal govt for the 1st 130+ years before the powers that be decided to fund WWI and pass an income tax. ;-)
Doubtful, since Rivian's head of software (Wassym Bensaid) has been blocking Rivians from getting AA/ACP integration since he believes reinventing the wheel developing Rivian bespoke versions of the 35+ AA/ACP apps is the best use of expensive software engineering resources is the better...
Respectfully, I take issue with everyone I hear that calls the EV tax deductions *subsidies. AFAIC, the $7,500 tax DEDUCTION is NOT a subsidy but YOUR choice to keep $7,500 of YOUR HARD-EARNED $$$; i.e. It's YOUR $$$ and NOT a government handout unlike many other *real* subsidies and...
Are you sure you even qualify for the tax credit since they added the income class warfare threshold?
I pre-ordered my Rivian R1S w/o regard to the tax credit which I did end up getting the full $7,500 since Rivian found a loophole whereby they offered to convert $100 of the pre-order $1,000...
Will be replacing my 2023 Rivian R1S which should have 150k+ miles on it by the time Scout is available for delivery although I'll probably just sell it to CarMax.
1. Would rather have no glass roof on my Rivian R1S than one that does not open nor be covered automatically.
2. REAL leather instead of pleather (a.k.a. vegan leather).
3. REAL buttons for climate controls and entertainment system instead of touch display.
4. REAL full-size spare that does...
