other way around for me. I have an EV, but want the EREV to make road trips more enjoyable. I’m doing a 1200 mile round trip in December, the extra time spent charging is just a PITA.
Right in line with the insane prices of all Jeeps. Sadly, Jeep owners accept and live with the poor build quality, but their customer base will erode if they don’t do something to correct the pricing models.
Key component you are missing, I doubt there is any way for Scout to verify their battery components and other critical minerals meet the requirements for the rebate at this point and they certainly wouldn’t be able to document that and get approval with the govt in time. The other requirement...
if they are near the entrance, they will constantly be blocked by empty ICE vehicles. The reason they put them at the far end of the lot is to give other drivers no reason to want to park there.
UAW contract with VW isn’t state specific, so the state doesn’t have anything to do with it. Scout will try to use the “different company” approach, but they will have a fight on their hands. UAW is desperate to add new members and will likely be in SC organizing before VW hires the first line...
VW in Chatt pays around $23/hour for no experience/high school grad now, but that will be going up at least 14% since that was their initial offer to the UAW after the vote last year. Pretty safe to bet Scout will be in line with whatever VW and the UAW settle on for their contract. I’d guess...
Production is two (or more) years away. A hell of a lot can change between now and then, but the fact VW has already been discussing bringing Porsche and Audi production utilizing the VW plant in Chattanooga and the Scout plant tells me they are planning way ahead as a counter to any tariff...
Yep. I have a Jeep, have never taken them off. Most Jeep owners I know have never taken them off. I’d guess the percentage of Bronco/Jeep owners that do it more than once, for the novelty of it, are in the single digits.
Legitimate concern considering the ID Buzz van that went on sale in Europe in 2022 (2024 here in the States) was originally shown as a concept at the NA Auto show in 2017. As a long time VW owner, they will drive you crazy waiting on new models.
With 50,000+ reservations and production ramp up time for a new plant thrown in to the equation (assuming all 50k reservations convert to sales), seems there is a good chance some current reservation holders wouldn’t see their vehicle until the 2029 model year.
