Just to add to that, he was the President of Audi USA prior to that. He came to Audi from Mercedes. Great track record and unlike many in leadership roles within VW, he understands the US market and consumer.
Go bigger while it’s still easy. I have a three car with each bay oversized (length and width) along with a shop area that is nearly the size of another bay and an upstairs storage area……and I wish I’d gone bigger.
Backup camera is legally required in the US, but I would guess they will have a full compliment of cameras/sensors. Not much point sticking them on these two models they are using for the intro since they wouldn’t be functional and it’s not a final design.
Currently have an ID.4 that I daily about 40 miles round trip and love it. For longer trips, I’d rather drive backroads/state highways over the Interstates though, so I’ll take my Jeep since the charging infrastructure just isn’t there. I’m going Traveler Harvester to be able to do the longer...
“Factory wrap” is always a post production application. I’d rather use a good aftermarket shop that will remove/replace decals, mirrors, door handles, badges etc and take the time to do edges and small parts correctly.
If Scout hit the price targets they have announced, the tax credit should be irrelevant as it is in line with, or cheaper, than comparable ICE vehicles. I leased an ID.4 because of the credit and the ridiculous discounts VW had on them last year, but it will have no influence on the Scout...
Were they base models with halogen or something? My last four VW have all been with adaptive LEDs and they are excellent. Never driven a Mini at night, so can’t compare to them specifically.
I would bet you my paycheck they will both be there. As many things as VW got wrong with their ID UI, they do have AA/CP and won’t risk screwing that up. I’d also bet the next Rivian models will as well.
VW software has been a weakness for a long time. The ID.4 gets most of the attention for the shortcomings, but their infotainment systems in their other cars aren’t much better and have the same problems (10x VW owner speaking). Still love the way they drive and fully anticipate the Rivian...
