My Ranger barely fits in the garage, it is 210.8 long and 85.8" wide w/mirrors, 73.3 without. If the Traveler comes out as 86" wide or close then I am good as the Ranger is 3" longer.
If it's too heavy then I will just keep my Ranger seeing as it is already all sat up to tow with built in braking, charging and wired for the lights. Cheaper than buying another 100K RV seeing as mine is paid for.
popo-patty, Hello Neighbor, Roseville here, and yes I have also done the Rubicon a few times, went in at upper Ice House, camping off trail at Buck's Lake. I also reserved the Traveler Harvester.
Too bad someone at the review did't have a tape measure in their pocket :) That would be a bit wide for my garage with the wife's car in there. And don't even suggest she leave it outside, that's a non-starter!
That is the only sticking point, I am thinking most EV's are on the heavy side for flat towing, my Ranger is only 4200 lbs, well within the 7000 lb tow hitch on my RV.
Anytime you purchase the initial launch of most anything you will pay a premium for being a 1st gen owner, just depends on how bad you want to be the first person on the block with a shingle new thing. So saying that my order is in :)
This won't work, Scout is a stand alone independent company, not affiliated with VW, so the dealers have no say so. Now that Tesla has led the way I think more start ups will go this route.
They just opened a new charge only station with 30 spots, all pull thru here in California, another 9 stations are planned. These 'Charging Plazas' also have a snack bar, bathrooms, lounge, waiting room, and play area for kids. I will just install a charger inside left in my garage. I have a 6KW...
I am 50/50 on the bench seat, love the 'old school' looks (because I am old?), extra leg room, and having my spouse within reach :), but I would surely miss the center console charging and storage option.
Let's just hope that the extender, if not able to 'charge' the battery, will at least maintain the current charge level. I wish they had gone into more detail on i's operation.
