Scout was going to source batteries from their plant in Canada anyways so I dont see how that impacts Scout.
The company building that factory in SC was from Japan so it makes sense for them to pause the project until the on again/off again trade policies stabilize.
Agree that the current...
You can actually, because civil engineers design road to withstand semi trucks, so EVs are small potatoes when it comes to use and wear.
The issue I have is the $200 fee is an arbitrary number that would require you to drive over 20,000 miles a year to pay close to the samefuel taxes.
This has been discussed a lot in the official forum and the past two times it stirred up a lot of folks Jamie from Scout chimed in and said that towing figures are not confirmed yet.
They are still working on ways to increase the towing capacity but the numbers aren’t finalized yet.
I just hope the Harvester isnt a $10k option.
Mid sized LFPs and small engines are pretty cheap for companies like VW. It shouldnt cost them too much more than the large NMC on the BEV models.
If they ask too much for it I will probably need to bow out.
I am budgeting for $85k but want all...
I will fly out from Texas, stop by a buddys house that moved to SC a few years ago, and drive my Scout 939 miles back home to East Texas the following day.
I really appreciate that the bumper designs are modular.
Will make fixing trail rash a lot cheaper and easier.
You can just replace the end cap and save a few thousand bucks over a total replacement.
I reserved a Traveler with Harvester in October like a lot of other people. But Scotts appearance on Jay Lenos Garage concerned me so I reserved a Terra in April just in case it loses less towing capacity than the traveler with the generator.
The whole appeal of the Scout for us was a bench...
If I go with the Terra I am installing a Bed Rug and Moonlander X.
The Moonlander is optional in two widths, up to 7 ft, and you sleep East West so the 5.5ft bed would be a none issue for camping.
We were really hoping to get one of these with the Harvester for boondocking, but I am not so sure now after the Jay Leno Garage interview.
5,000lbs would really limit our trailer choices, and I have a family of 6 so we cant go with a small teardrop.
I reserved the Traveler with Harvester in...
Those are very popular with dudes that build tacomas and tundras for overlanding. Several companies make hitch receiver swingouts and some are pretty solid even on bumpy roads.
Added my reservation.
I reserved the Traveler Harvester in October after the event and reserved the Terra with Harvester in April after the Jays Garage interview where Scott said the Harvesters will only tow around 5,000lbs.
Hoping I can stick with a Traveler but reserved both until towing...
