  1. How well will the 2027 Scout Traveler hold its value?

UNLNOWN! The rate of innovation occurring with EV’s doesn’t help maintain resale values. IF a solid state technology battery is not available at the time of Scout’s sales rollout the resale will likely decline. Current 3 year old EV resale values are typically less than equivalent ICE models...
  2. Dream: 2-Door Scout

Had a 2 door Wrangler. Liked the looks (Mohito green is back!) and short turning radius . Definitely more agile off road.. On road the short wheelbase got “bucky” over highway expansion joints (stiffer off road suspension didn’t help). Traded it for a Gladiator diesel when they ended diesel...
  3. Harvester

The generator “may” have enough capacity to keep you moving at a very low battery charge level depending on demand. I know the battery size is smaller and has different chemistry that will allow it to be drawn down more safely to low levels. Intent is to keep you moving the longest time...
  4. Harvester

Typically the Harvester will kick in as you are driving once the battery gets down to 60% (my estimate). The idea is to keep the battery from loosing to much reserve power for high demand needs (towing, passing etc). May cycle on and off or keep running based on power demand as you are driving...
  5. Scout Traveler & Terra pics from IH Scout Nationals 2025 Event

Thanks for the pic’s. Detail on the battery/fuel/available driving range on the dash display was new to me. Scouts in background were pretty amazing also.
  6. Senators propose killing $7500 EV tax credit, adding new $1,000 tax for road repairs

Need some creative and logical options to be developed (VERY difficult for a political process to deliver). Barring that, as funding is neglected at least Scout is reasonably positioned for “survival of the fittest”. Recently hit a road crater with a Jeep Gladiator which knocked it out of...
  7. Road oriented trim

No details yet BUT I am betting on a yes. The current styling mules have an off-road look but not much actual content. The interior styling in the initial release vehicles is definitely NOT utility/off road practical. The styling mule wheels seem to the same as Rivian uses so if the factory...
  8. Convert to full EV later from harvester

Interesting question. As production gets closer I would like to know IF any provisions for “semi simple” battery replacement have been designed into the vehicles. May not need to remove harvester hardware, just use it less with updated battery tech and software. Things are changing so quickly...
  9. New: Scout Traveler Off-Road Concept with winch bumper, rock sliders and in green paint color

This is more of what I had in mind vs the cabana roof and the high end interior. The front end looks much more substantial than the light sheet metal below the bumper on the original styling mule. ALSO the rock sliders look beefy enough. Wonder what protects the bottom of the battery pack? This...
  10. Latest Scout Traveler photos & videos from official event

Well we know the one that Leno drove. I assume the one with the fade heritage sport stripes is a separate vehicle, not sure if it is actually drivable (anyone see it at a Scout event?). It appears that the green off-road model is a computer generated image (too bad it is badass cool). Oh yeah...
  11. 2027 Scout Reservation Deposits List - Tracker & Stats 📋 📊

It seems there is no way to know for sure. Prior discussions have noted that the reservation ID#’s are not sequential. As you mentioned certain option/power combo’s may be schedule for production in batches irregardless of order date. Not sure anyone has a clue at this time.
  12. Anyone else losing excitement/interest?

The more the merrier at the production facility. Sharing space will add cash flow that can with reducing Scout’s overhead.
  13. Scout's reaction to possible repeal of EV tax credit : "Scout Motors is here to stay."

I am all in on my Scout order. Assumed EV tax credits would not be around by 2028(ish). EV tech should continue to drop in cost (relatively due to economies of scale) and ALL vehicles will cost more. Looking for reduced operating costs to help finance my transition to EV. PS: Scout’s comment’s...
  14. Insider Info for Scout Forum Members

The recent message thread about forum members losing interest and getting concerned about how the future of Scout will play out seemed to capture a pretty common feeling. How about Scout giving us a little more insight into what is going on with the development and testing using engineering...
  15. Anyone else losing excitement/interest?

I am hanging on to my reservation. In 2 + years EVERYTHING will be more expensive regardless of current distractions in Washington. Not a lot of new info on Scout recently so Forum has been a little slower. I have collected Scout pic’s over the past few months that I look at to remind me of why...
  16. Trump to impose 25% tariff on all imported vehicles & parts [LOCKED DUE TO NO POLITICS RULE]

Sounds promising. Will need a long term bi-partisan commitment to maintain some level of incentive and or protection to sustain these jobs (many 2-3 years out). Oh yah, need skilled workers for these jobs who are committed to productivity and quality.
  17. Cup holders for Terra and Traveler with the bench seat

Good question/suggestion. All of the interior discussion has focused on screens/software. I the camera shots don’t recall seeing much detail on cup holders etc. Don’t think much about it until you need it?!
  18. Trump to impose 25% tariff on all imported vehicles & parts [LOCKED DUE TO NO POLITICS RULE]

I this situation time may be on Scout’s side. ALL of the competitors prices will also rise (steel/aluminum etc.) and Scout can pick their suppliers based these new market pressures without already being locked into contracts/bids. May even be able to lease out production space in the state of...
  19. Range extender versus standard gas engine - what can be omitted?

I get the argument BUT: looking forward to simplicity of BEV maintenance (no oil/coolant/water pumps/spark plugs/fuel injectors/trans fluids etc). Any vehicle with regen braking will reduce brake jobs (not sure about wheel bearings/diff’s ext elimination?). There is the issue of battery life...
