With it, it won't fit in my garage. I think it looks great, but fitting in the garage is a priority.

I have this same problem - with the spare tire mounted on the rear I'm about 8" too long. I'm thinking about adding a bump-out (similar to the ones used for close-clearance fireplaces) to my garage. All-in including the permit, It looks like I can do it myself for about $800; worth it to park inside...

Scout Motors has confirmed that the spare tire carrier on the Traveler SUV will be optional. is considering having the spare tire carrier be optional.

But it looks like it's removable - see photo of the hinge pin on the spare tire carrier.

Removing (or not optioning the spare tire carrier) reduces the length of the Traveler SUV by 17"

Length With Spare Wheel Carrier: 207.9 in
Length Without Spare Wheel Carrier: 190.9 in

But no word yet on whether the Traveler SUV will be able to fit a 33" tire underbody like the Terra Pickup. This wasn't mentioned in the specs / press release, so my guess is that as of now, it can't. Or else they would have boasted that ability for the Traveler.

Also wondering with the storage box option in place of the spare tire, where would the spare tire be located?

Having wheel carrier be optional is a good move. Why not give customers the choice, it'd only helps sell more Scouts.

I think best solution would be to make the spare tire carrier optional and also allow undermounting on the Traveler. Best of both worlds. Do it Scout

YES on optional rear mounted spare.

Spare underneath in rear (not sure). The Harvester crowd is already looking at the gen set/engine in that area, fuel tank under rear seat (all Scouts will likely be designed to accommodate this layout) which will not leave much room for for a spare tire). I can hear the off-roader crowd screaming about decreased ground clearance. FINALLY I have helped more than 1 stranded motorist fish around underneath their vehicle to pull out a full size spare because they no clue on where it was/how to pull it out. Inside ok for me BUT willl take up room.

Spare would likely not fit in Frunk which leaves the factory supplied fix a flat goop/inflater (bad option-learn to use a tire plug kit) or call a flatbed.

Will likely just stick with the external spare. Have had externals on 2 vehicles and had very few actual access problems. If necessary access the rear storage by lowering a seat back and loading through a rear door?!
