I already pay about $200 more than what an ICE car pays for registrationI have always had mixed feelings about EV gas tax exemption (roads don’t fix themselves). If you look at truck plates the weight of vehicle determines the registration fee. Can’t really argue that increased weight does not increase road damage and obviously EV’s weigh more than ICE counterparts. Need to figure out a appropriate balance.
Not unexpected but Trump looking to kill the tax credit.....

And you think they'll remove any taxes at the pump?It seems to be the simplest solution is a use based tax on mileage. Remove any fuel taxes at the pump and shift that to mileage based taxes.
Then there could be tax rebates based on income so it all get's settled at tax time. In the Bay Area all the Federal EV tax credits don't really matter due to income based requirements.
Of course not, I'm stating the simple/logical solution would be a shift of the tax. But likely will never happen, even though it would bring in much more tax revenue. And you think they'll remove any taxes at the pump?
Slashing indiscriminately is not an audit, especially when none of the numbers on their website are factual.Yeah, they tried that. Everyone went ape-shit.LOL
Need some creative and logical options to be developed (VERY difficult for a political process to deliver). Barring that, as funding is neglected at least Scout is reasonably positioned for “survival of the fittest”. Recently hit a road crater with a Jeep Gladiator which knocked it out of alignment. IF I had been in our front wheel drive vehicle that day, likely would have done some real damage to the suspension.

Glad yall are okay and had the right tool for the job after hitting that hole.
A lot of things are broken in our government, but I think we just need sensible reforms, not hack and slash buffoonery that makes people feel good until it affects them.
People that want gas cars shouldn’t be punished for wanting gas cars, and people that want EVs shouldn’t be punished for wanted EVs.
We can all pay our fair share for the roads we enjoy together ?
We know.......I did Cadillac Vistiq
