The Rivian R1T goes ~300 miles with AT tires and a ~135kWh battery. the Terra is a bigger vehicle but i'd imagine it will get similar efficiency (probably slightly worse) assuming their engineers are as good as Rivian's, so it should be able to get 300 miles with a 140-145kWh battery
a) there's little reason to speculate at this point, way too early.
b) don't let the "looks" fool you. most people would assume the Cybertruck has a lower coefficient of drag than the R1T but its actually the opposite.
c) the R1T/R1S can get 300 miles of range with about a 135kWh battery so...
imo, the stuff you have to interact with daily is more important than the stuff you use infrequently. that being said here's what i would like to see Scout spend priority on:
Comfortable seats - well bolstered, multi-adjustable, cooled/heated
Premium Audio - unless you have an elite sound...
I had the same thought several weeks ago when we had the bomb cyclone in Seattle (I posted on another forum). We lost power for almost a week. I have an R1T and I was able to power lots of things using the built in outlets which was awesome but had to charge several times by going to a DCFC...
The issue isn't just direct to consumer sales, but franchise laws and other regulations in place limiting competition. Another example is test drives. In WA you cannot test drive a Rivian or Lucid. Scout may have a similar issue unless it falls under the umbrella of VW but that could open...
Youre probably right they will have a model with road tires but like the Rivian it will make no sense. The capability of the R1T/R1S with the air suspension, hydraulic roll control, etc, makes no sense with road tires. Such overkill. The R2 makes a lot more sense.
I suspect if Scout makes a...
not sure what you mean. this isn't some limited run production. if you reserved, its up to you if you end up with one.
when you get it depends on when you reserved (what place in line you are) and if you live in or near a metro they are launching in. at the reveal they said they will...
This is going to be an interesting story as we get closer to production and delivery. I think its great on the sales side for Scout to want to do direct to consumer and they should stick to it. However, the service side is going to be a whole other thing.
We know Rivian has struggled with...
Let's temper the excitement with reality.
Scout is launching in 16 metros. If you don't live within some proximity of those or the factory, I highly doubt you'll be able to pickup your vehicle from the factory, even if you are a day one reservation holder. Sorry but in addition to that, its...
no slope and aerodynamics will not help much with rain and definitely will do nothing with dirt/snow. its a prototype so they likely left it off. it'd be shocking if they didnt add one.
Depends on how they implement but if it does provide about 150 miles on battery only and extends it to 500 miles, im most likely in.
I'd also like to see it be able to charge the battery even while parked. For example if there is a power outage or I'm overlanding, I'd like to see it be able to...
i like watching MKBHD's YT channel but that podcast is unwatchable. those guys are so uninformed or ill-informed and constantly going off on side topics. total discussion on Scout of the 13 min video was probably 3-4 min.
not a huge fan of what they showed in the reveal. overall design too retro looking. don't like the start button on the wheel or the two spoke look either. not a deal breaker just aesthetically not good looking imo.
The R1T is an insane vehicle. Swiss army knife of vehicles. Best vehicle I've ever owned. Its not perfect but for a first time manufacturer, its legit good. If Rivian offered a range extender, I'd be all over it which is why the Traveler has now become an option for my next vehicle. Terra...
