  1. EREV F-150 Lightning Announced - new Terra competitor

Towing with an EV is possible, but the range makes it a lot more of an annoyance. If you are towing for work (where time is money), or have other time constraints (such as towing livestock) - it becomes a deal killer.
  2. Cup holders for Terra and Traveler with the bench seat

It's been 8 years, but from what I recall of my F150 (with a bench seat), it had 2 pop out cup holders from the dash, 2 in the drop down arm rest, and 2 in the door panels. I can only hope the Scout bench version will have as many creative cup holder locations.
  3. EREV F-150 Lightning Announced - new Terra competitor

I seriously doubt it will be a direct competitor to the Terra - more of a direct competitor to the Dodge is what I expect. I am betting Ford will go with a big generator so they can brag about its ability to tow. Scout is going more for efficiency. In general I don't think EREV is a long term...
  4. Winter is coming! How do you clear the snow on your vehicle??

    S. Texas. The world here stops before snow on a vehicle becomes a problem. Let's face it, virtually every business will close if there is a 1/2" of that alien white stuff. Old wife's tale, we get a day of snow about every 7 years - but honestly, it has been 40 years since we have had enough...
  5. Need 37” Tire wheel combo available on the traveler model at launch💪💪

Given that the Terra has already published them as an option - I would bet the drive train can handle it. Real question is if the clearances are different between the two. That said, at some point we probably should stop supersizing everything. Our JLURD came with 33's. Since we already had...
  6. Pop Down Side Steps in the rock sliders are a must!! please include these

I am not short - but probably below average nowadays. Getting into a vehicle tall or low is mostly about learning and habit. It is funny how I can easily get into the drivers side of my Golf, but it is frustrating to get into the passenger side - but at least I have not slammed my head too...
  7. Pop Down Side Steps in the rock sliders are a must!! please include these

I use them almost daily on my F250 - but don't miss them when I use my wife's Wrangler. So not a necessity for me. Honestly - would prefer bullet proof sliders, less to worry about breaking.
  8. Scout EREV competition is coming!

The idea of a Ford 3/4 ton EREV is interesting - but no details other than thinking it is a probably future Ford project.
  9. New Rival: 2026 Jeep Recon Revealed

Under 250 miles - they can keep it. Not worth the buzz. Of course it might be a bloated pig if they tried to shoehorn more batteries in it.
  10. Scout gift for reservation holders - Any guesses?

Updated address a day or two ago-got email at 2:30pm today.
  11. 20 Scout Service Centers Locations

Scanned the reservation tracker thread - here is a link to the last analysis I saw on it https://www.scoutevforum.com/forum/threads/2027-scout-reservation-deposits-list-tracker-stats-%F0%9F%93%8B-%F0%9F%93%8A.10906/post-166994 One thing that was only mentioned in one post from a service center...
  12. Time to give up the frunk (if you want the Harvester engine)...

HP is a little tricky thing to measure with a generator. Generators generally want to run at a constant RPM for efficiency. RPM is essentially torque x RPM. For longer life, you generally don't want high RPM with a generator - more noise, shorter life. So it could be conceivable that an...
  13. 20 Scout Service Centers Locations

There have been speculation threads already - but I do not recall anything hard being anything more than a guess.
  14. Scout gift for reservation holders - Any guesses?

The last time I had a reservation for a somewhat high end market item that had a multi year delay (in it's case, it was a 7 year delay), they sent me a framed technical drawing. Honestly, do not recall what year they sent me the drawing - but I know I still had to wait a long time afterwards...
  15. Audi to build a luxury Off-Roader SUV (Hybrid EREV range-extender) on Scout platform

When I bought my TDI - I would have considered an Audi. But they had not made the comparable vehicle for about 3 years at that time, and I really did not think it was worth the effort to hunt one down on the used market. I will not curse this direction, yet. It might be in Scouts best...
  16. Time to give up the frunk (if you want the Harvester engine)...

The Scout is an EV, the Harvester is an onboard generator. Since there will be batteries to handle short term surges - all that is necessary is to cover average load. 50hp should cover that with a little to spare. (Assuming 3 miles per kw, you would need about a 20kw generator - google says...
  17. VW announces access to Tesla Supercharger network

Supercharger access is better than nothing, but it still is not NACS. Better keep your AC charger in your frunk.
  18. Scout TravelerFirst At-Bat Needs to Be a Home Run

I know I should not base a lot on simply looks, but it is hard not to. Perhaps if I gave a R1 a chance, I would see it is a wonderful vehicle - but I can not get past the looks.
  19. A TRUE WISH FOR CHARGING

I have serious doubts the Scout Harvester will be nearly that large. A lot depends on the target market - and for a startup, that should be a mass target market. Only a small fraction of the market tows, and even that fraction does not tow regularly or long distance. It is just not a great...
  20. Power options

Do you really want something as complicated as a gas engine without full dealer support. I know no local mechanics that will touch my VW as it is.
