They're still a corporate entity, with a lot of investor money at stake, but I love the attitude. I'm always on board with a disruptor. I signed on with T-Mobile when they started their "uncarrier" phase with John Legere. This sounds like the same disruption energy. Had a good ride with T-Mo for...
Right. I expect it won't be much more complicated than my trusty Honda generator (as opposed to the much more complex 4xe system that Stellantis uses), but it's still another component with more wear items, emissions equipment, etc. that I don't need. I only travel over 300 miles in one day once...
Exactly why I ordered the BEV. I believe in Scout, but it's still essentially a new company with a new product. I want to increase my odds for having a great vehicle by choosing a more simple option. Granted, the Harvester drivetrain is still more simple than, say, a 4xe.
Yikes. Look at those ID.4 sales tank in Q4 2024. That's quite an accomplishment.
EDIT: Ah, there was a stop sale."In late September, ID.4 sales and then production were halted due to a faulty electronic door-opening mechanism that was said to cause the doors to open unexpectedly. About 100,000...
Gonna try to nurse this thing along for another couple of years. It's 12 years old now, 140K miles on it. I'm not driving it enough and all the miles are going on our family wagon (2019 Subaru Forester, up to 93K miles). I might have to sell this and pick up some cheap used EV for a bit just to...
Agree, but if it helps Scout be a success, I guess that's good. Personally, I'm all for simplification and clean, quiet propulsion powered by the solar panels on my house. :)
I've owned 2-door Wranglers for 40 years and often swap between hard top and soft top. I have never had a leak. I've always used the OEM hardware, tops, frames, etc. Have I just been lucky?
In reference to the OT, if they add a 2-door EV to the lineup, I'll be switching out my Traveler EV...
I heard that sales of the 2-door Wrangler are about 15% of all Wrangler sales. Manual transmissions overall represent 3% of all JL sales, according to recent numbers. I am part of a dying fanbase.
Even for manufacturers of vehicles with a traditionally manual-favoring audience, there is likely...
It's been all over YouTube based on rumors that spread at the latest Jeep sales conference, so just a rumor for now. Jeep is "electrifying" their entire lineup by I forget what date - a few years from now. The thought is that the 2-door makes up about 10-15% of Wrangler sales now, and I had...
The marketing is a little out of control here, but I hope they don't miss. Also, if 2-door Jeeps really are going away as rumored this week, I don't think I'll have much loyalty to the Jeep brand beyond its legacy, so I'm open to whoever offers a 4wd EV that's more compact than a 4-door JL.
Would have loved to have heard it was going to a more union-friendly state, but I'm happy to see them moving forward and glad to hear they're opening up production in the US! Can't wait to see the first Scout EV roll of the assembly line!
SUV's are where companies make their profits, but with the price of EV raw materials, could be slimmer margins. My guess is this is an "all-in, out-the-door" base price $55K vehicle nicely equipped, with options up to $90K or so. Should we have a poll? ;)
I hope it comes in at $40K, but I'm...
