This is absolutely correct. And likely one of the biggest reasons (besides brand recognition / cachet) that VW decided to launch Scout Motors by creating a separate company that operates independently from Volkswagen.
I'm also confident that VW dealerships won't win this one and we'll see...

Scout has announced that they'll be building all new standalone stores & service centers, so won't be using VW/Audi dealerships.

"We are working on plans for a Scout Experience Center at our factory in Blythewood, South Carolina. This center will include customer delivery, lounges, an off-road course, and more. It is in the early stages at this point, but we are actively pursuing it."

First time I'm seeing the seatback of the front bench seat and it doesn't look like there's hinges on it so I'm guessing that the one in the concept doesn't fold.
Check out this slide from the Scout reveal about manufacturing and portfolio expansion. The covered vehicle definitely looks like it could be a 2-Door Scout EV!
