I loved the steering wheel paddles on my ELR - hardly ever used the brake pedal... The Volvo XC40 taught me to love the one-pedal mode which only required the brakes for the last bit of stopping...
What do you prefer?
This is exactly how my ELR behaved... I saw the message stating the engine was in use a few times when it shouldn't have needed to run, so it must have been as you have described.
I started with a Lincoln MKZ 2.0H and loved it. Then switched to a Cadillac ELR and loved that more because of the paddle-forced regen braking. Then decided to go full electric with a Volvo XC40 - loved it but my wife had range anxiety - so traded it for a S60 PHEV - she loves it!
If I could...
I've been researching ESUVs for a while...
Fell under the Tesla spell for a few years until I saw a CT in-person, got a refund for my reservation that same day...
Reserved a Lightning, got a call to come in to finalize the order then got passed by because I had a PIN from a family member and...
Added a reservation for the Traveler Harvester yesterday... can't wait!!!
I owned a 1980 SII diesel from 2002-2004, loved it but it needed a new drivetrain and it wasn't affordable for me then... Wish I still had it!
