Since these new Scouts are a complete ground-up EV platform, the Scout app should be able to do a lot, like Tesla's does. What does everyone expect at the very least in terms of functions? What about reach / hope functions?

For me the Scout phone app should at very least do:

- end-to-end purchase process (including applying for financing, uploading required documents, scheduling delivery)
- phone as a key (PAAK)
- turn vehicle on
- open close windows
- set temperature / climate control
- flash lights
- honk horn
- schedule charging and preheating
- display all basic vehicle info (mileage, tire pressure, last trip data)
- schedule service / repairs
- chat with customer service

Hope functions:

- warn you when there's "Sentry Mode" events occurring
- load live camera views from vehicle
- ability to speak via vehicle's external speakers
- summon vehicle to you

I couldn't care less about app functions. Past 4 vehicles, including current 2, have apps I never use for vehicle find, start, etc .

Call me old fashioned but I use a smart phone to phone and text and key fobs to drive.

Shoot, I have a feeling industry trends will come back around to keyed ignitions for "nostalgia" sake.

None.

Don't care, don't want it, won't use it, would rather not pay for it.

Question for members that don't care much about the future Scout app:

Are you guys/gals are a first time EV owner?

I ask not out of disrespect or condescension but for most EV's on the market, the vehicle's app is a significant aspect of EV ownership and because of that it often affects ownership satisfaction.

Personally, I want a basic app. PAAK is cool as long as it works and there's no delay, like Rivian owners just standing there waiting for their door handles to "present". The ability to set charging limits, PAAK, and temp remotely via the app is all I need. Charging limits just case I decide to go tow the boat to the coast and want increase from the daily 70/80% to 100%. PAAK is self explanatory. Remote temp is the same vein as remote starting an ICE truck.

If I wind up with a Scout it will be my 4th EV.

Never used any apps with my Tesla, Bolt, or ID4.

Still totally uninterested in a Scout app.

Copy the Rivian app, should cover the basics and then some. We already know there will be a physical key so the app only provides functionality if you choose to use it.

My main concern will be phantom drain, ideally, it's less than Rivian G1 vehicles at launch.

copy Tesla / Rivian and you have a great starting point! Add remote start of harvester and a few unique items!

Anything that involves a safety issue, like rolling windows up and down, should not be included.

The abilities I want are:
Climate Control on/off/adjust.
Charging start/stop/adjust.
Horn honk/Vehicle locate.
Door lock/unlock.

I prefer a Key FOB that is required to be in proximity to access and start the vehicle.

I like proximity to start vehicle, but I have appreciated the ability to leave a vehicle running (AC) without the key in it.

Not mentioned, and I don't know how well it works, but UWB (I think that is correct) to function as a vehicle key could be nice. I would love to wear my key on my wrist and have a cell phone as a backup. I have been dealing with a sore thigh for 2 weeks due to a key in my pocket apparently stabbing me. I have also had a key decide to wage war with my cellphone - attempting to deliver a killing blow through the screen cover.

Honestly, I carry too many keys.
