My Ranger? 7K lbs, I think the Harvester is 7200 or so. My RV has a tow cap at 7500 and I think the Harvester is going to exceed that. On the other hand my Wife said she would be happy to drive the Scout and follow the RV, she is so sweet!
I have a Ranger FX4 and use it off road in the desert or mountains while RV’ing several weeks each summer. But it gets crappy gas mileage (20 max) and it would be great to have the harvester option. My only concern is towing it, either four down or flat bed.
Oh, you must have one of those little 1 car garages sandwiched between row houses in Trenton? Just kidding, but I have seen those, was stationed at Ft Dix, and had a G-friend at Stockton Uni in Auburn.
Solid State Batteries (if available) will have an almost unlimited charge life cycle, also the charge time from from 20>80% is much lower than other battery chemistries, around 10-15 minutes if the charger supports that high charge rate. To me those are the main advantage over LFP or LEPOF4...
I asked you this question on another thread before seeing this, the Canadian border Officers are tough!, and some are mean, had more than a few occasions to cross and some were not fun at all.
So if you purchase a Scout in Canada will you have to pay the additional Tariff that will be imposed. I would think even if you bought it here and drove it home you would be charged duty or the tariff, or both. Just curious as when I visited Canada I was a bit surprised at the prices.
PS, I...
Plenty of chargers out here with one planned at home as well, but I go to AZ, NM, and west Texas in winter and also to off road, so the Harvester s a must, only reason I haven't gone EV so far.
It has been reported that the new president plans to do away with the EV credit, if this happens will you fork over the extra $7500 or take a pass? I guess for me it depends on the final price announced by Scout Motors down the road, but $60K is pretty much as high as I will go...
I have a 16’ wide garage but will have to share with the wife, she flat refuses to park her car under the carport. So the charger will just have to be equipped with a longer cable as she parks on the left side. I do park my Ranger without issue but the Traveler will be 5” wider with the mirrors...
The issue with Unions are they start off fine, with good intentions, then thru greed want more and more until the company either prices themselves out of the market or goes bankrupt. Stellantis/GM is in big trouble, Ford has raised prices where a F150 costs you your life savings. A big reason...
And due to the change in Administration in DC come January both scouts will be $7500 more expensive as the electric vehicle discount goes away. (which has been promised)
Kind of hard to add vents to a glass or cabana roof, or a front bench seat with folding center seat. Only option that works with all versions (thus minimizing cost and parts) is floor vents under front seats.
With a four banger in this case and you run the battery down to safety shutoff then I would think you would have to gas up and let the generator run for awhile to get back on the move, how long would depend on several things, generator output, battery charge rate, and DOC needed to resume...
I also carry a couple of E-Bikes fairly often, my CRV required a hitch extender due to spare on rear hatch, 130 lbs total and never an issue. I expect the Traveler to be the same.
