Do the Grenadier thing and put a locking storage compartment in the rear mounted tire. Storage under the floor would still be welcome, it's nice to stash your daily junk down there so it doesn't take up cargo space.
That’s pretty small. Just enough room for muddy boots or recovery tackle, or an air compressor. Not really much else.

So you could give a frunk !! I just can't wait to see an actual order sheets then that's when the real customers come to the plate and we know what scout is actually selling and at what price point and drive train offerings being a reality

Frunk space is important in the SUV as it won’t have that much cargo space behind the second row, Terra has the bed. If you want a mall crawler then it doesn’t matter, but I live in hills near the Rubicon, and need space for camping & fishing gear 😀

I ordered the BEV Traveler. The Harvester is likely a safer bet BUT if I need both drive systems to make the Scout work for me I’ll save the $$ and keep driving my 1500 diesel pick up with 700+ mile range between fill ups. Let’s see if Scout can surprise us all with a innovative and effective Harvester to make me a believer!

Well I am in the let's see what scout comes to the table with. As to full electric or Erev after driving an EV if Scout can come to market with a 500 mile range EV at a competitive price point then that switches me to full EV. I drove from New Jersey to Fort Myers Florida for the first time in an EV charge overnight at hotel 25 minutes at Tesla chargers walked dog got a bite on our way cost me 165 bucks in charging for 1,087 miles. Cadillac VISTIQ with battery tech headed in the right direction and Scouts timeline I think it's possible for them to compete with the likes of lucid and Rivian but right now we're looking at a beautiful bride who has yet to cook !!!

I just had a thought... If towing capacity is compromised due to the harvester, what if they offered two different harvester configurations?
Option 1. Stick the generator in the back like they've said, and loose some towing capacity, say the 7.5k down to 5k or whatever it ends up being. Done.
Option 2. Stick the generator up front losing the frunk, keeping the same towing capacity with or without the generator (both at 7.5k or whatever the number is), and charge a "premium" for the extra towing, maybe $3k +/-. If it's not mechanically connected, it's mostly just wires/software making it work. I know gas/tank etc too, but that seems like an easy fix for an engineer too.

Maybe option 2 keeping the full towing capacity and charging the premium would be the gen 2, or a near future option after all the other orders get filled for people who don't mind the towing is less from option 1.
PROBLEM SOLVED! :D

I don't think the weight of the Harvester will be the limiting factor for towing weight. It's replacing an already heavy battery pack.

I suspect the limiting factor will be the combined lower max discharge rate for the smaller battery and Harvester output, to meet the requirements of the SAE towing test especially for the hill climb.

Just like some have range anxiety on the EV, others probably have maintenance anxiety on the REx. Both are probably overblown. As long as you’re not trying to do 250 miles off-road, and don’t live in an apartment with street parking, the BEV is probably more than adequate. And the motor on the REx isn’t powering the drive train. It’s not an “engine” - it’s just a generator. At least that’s what I understand it to be - similar (actually identical) to what Ineos proposed for the Fusilier. So it’s not really complicated and doesn’t require any expensive maintenance. If Scout has to prioritize, it seems like they would prioritize where most of the reservations are at.

That’s exactly what they did.

I hope they have it as shown with great bones and make sure it exceeds expectations on both consumer and Scouts engineering departments

Sounds more like you have to give up the Scout if you don’t want a Harvester.
